Involved in the discovery and testing of new drugs, antibiotics and vaccines, R&D Scientists are involved in the design and creation of new molecules or materials containing useful properties.
Usually educated to doctorate level, R&D Scientists understand and use the fundamental processes of cellular life to develop more effective medicines for a range of health issues. They also plan, design and conduct experiments that investigate and analyse scientific phenomena and develop theories that explain them.
